Nepes Selected for Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s ‘Industrial Supply Chain Carbon Partnership Program’

Nepes, a semiconductor backend processing specialist (Co-CEOs Lee Byung-gu and Lee Chang-woo), announced that it has been selected as a partner company in the Samsung Electronics consortium for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s “2026 Industrial Supply Chain Carbon Partnership Program.”
The Industrial Supply Chain Carbon Partnership Program is a government initiative in which anchor companies and partner companies form a “one team” to promote carbon reduction across the supply chain and jointly respond to increasingly stringent global carbon regulations. This year, eight consortia—including Hyundai Motor–Kia and Samsung Electronics—and 31 small and medium-sized partner companies were selected. Nepes was included as a partner company in the Samsung Electronics consortium representing the electronics and semiconductor sector.
Through this program, Nepes plans to introduce high-efficiency carbon reduction facilities at its business sites, focusing on hybrid pre-cooling and reheating systems and inverter-type P-vacuum pumps. In addition, energy efficiency improvement equipment such as cooling water waste heat recovery systems and dry-coil pump inverters will be installed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the entire semiconductor backend process.
With its selection for this program, Nepes will receive up to 50% of the facility investment cost for carbon reduction from the government, along with interest-free loans supported by Samsung Electronics through its ESG fund to cover the private share. This is expected to reduce the burden of initial investment and improve the reliability of emissions data.
