Semiconductor company nepes, headquartered in Eumseong, provided school supply support for children from vulnerable families in Cheongju as they prepare to enter elementary school. On February 4, nepes and the Yongam Community Welfare Center carried out the “First Steps with Children Project” to encourage 27 children from group homes, multicultural families, and low‑income households.
nepes interns participated by pairing 1:1 with each child, preparing school‑supply kits, writing personalized congratulatory messages, and delivering the items directly. Each kit—worth about 100,000 KRW—included a backpack, snacks arranged as a bouquet, and various school supplies.
The welfare center expressed hopes that the support would help children begin school with confidence, while nepes noted that the interns’ direct involvement made the experience especially meaningful. The company stated that it will continue fulfilling its social responsibility through ongoing community engagement activities.
