nepes Certified as an "Excellent Employee Invention Compensation Company"

nepes (Co-CEOs Lee Byung-gu and Lee Chang-woo), a semiconductor back-end process specialist, announced on Tuesday, the 14th, that it has been certified as an "Excellent Employee Invention Compensation Company" under a program run by the Korea Invention Promotion Association and the Intellectual Property Office.
The Employee Invention Compensation System, based on the Invention Promotion Act, was established to encourage employees' job-related inventions and promote the securing of rights and commercialization of inventions, thereby strengthening industrial technological competitiveness. To help activate the system, the government certifies companies that operate excellent compensation programs as "Excellent Companies" and provides them with a range of incentives.
Through this review, nepes was certified as an Excellent Company, while nepes Ark and nepes Yahad each went through separate individual reviews and were also certified as Excellent Employee Invention Compensation Companies. The certification is valid for three years, from June 17, 2026 to June 16, 2029.
As a certified Excellent Company, nepes will receive expedited examination benefits for patent, utility model, and design applications, allowing it to receive examination results faster than usual, as well as an additional registration fee reduction of up to 20%. In addition, the company will receive extra points when applying for government intellectual property support programs such as IP-R&D projects and patent-based commercialization R&D projects, and will also receive preferential benefits, including premium discounts, when purchasing SGI Seoul Guarantee Insurance.
